2017 National Police Legacy Conference – Darwin

The conference was attended by delegates from the Australian Federal Police, South Australia, Western Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and of course the Territory, and provided a platform to discuss ideas, best practices and national strategies to best serve our members and most importantly, the Police Legacy Legatees throughout Australia.

An official welcome to country was delivered by NT Police Legacy Legatees Tyla and Demi Cubillo and followed by a formal opening of the conference by Deputy Commissioner Kate Vanderlaan, APM. Across the day we heard about experiences from our Junior Police Rangers, NSW Police Legacy and from Mr Mark Burgess, APM, President of the PFA in relation to the National Police Memorial and the development of the Wall to Wall Ride and their future national activities and strategies.

A dinner was hosted on Saturday night and guests included The Administrator, The Honourable John Hardy, OAM, who is also the patron of NT Police Legacy, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Reece Kershaw APM, and the President of the NTPA, Mr Paul McCue.

Northern Territory Police Legacy Board of Management appreciates the ongoing support provided by the NTPA and the Commissioner of Police, and in particular the hosting of the 2017 National Legacy Conference.
